Detailed 1/48 scale assembly model kit of the Mitsubishi A6M Zero, a lightweight, carrier-based fighter aircraft employed by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service from 1940 to 1945. When the Zero was first introduced, it was the best carrier based fighter in the world and was universally feared and respected by Allied pilots. The Zero was fast and incredibly maneuverable, and in the hands of a capable pilot, it could out dogfight any fighter of the era. The Mitsubishi Zero's prowess as a dogfighter was best demonstrated by the legendary Japanese fighter ace Saburo Sakai on June 24, 1944 when his Zero managed to elude a squadron of 15 U.S. Navy F6F Hellcats and returned to base almost untouched. This Tamiya 1/48 scale assembly kit features the A6M3 Type 0 Model 32 variant. Model kit highlights: Markings included for 4 different aircraft. 60 parts in light grey and clear with recessed panel lines. Detailed 3-part Sakae engine, cowling, exhaust collector, landing gear. Each character in this series of easy-to-assemble snap-fit plastic kits features polycap joints, detachable armor parts, and heel stamps with the character's name etched into both heels for you to stamp on anything you like when stamp dye (not included) is applied to the heels! A full-color manga chapter drawn by PLEX Tatsuhiko Shimoda is also included (printed on the assembly instructions sheet) with each kit in the series. Inspired by Sun Quan from the original Chinese epic, Sonken Gundam comes armed with his Gaoh sword. Foil stickers are included so painting is not required, but would add a realistic appearance to the final product. Instructions are in Japanese but extremely well illustrated so anyone can follow them.
